Zahra Hassan is a British-Pakistani investment banker, CFO, angel investor and fintech entrepreneur. She has 10 years of experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, early stage venture capital and private equity. At 500 Startups, she was co-head of fund-raising for an inaugural dedicated European venture, developing strategy including go-to-market, investing and portfolio management, prospecting new investment opportunities; conducting market, team, product and competitive due diligence and driving consensus at the investment committee level. She evaluated, executed and monitored early-stage European investments for global funds, defined strategies for future portfolio investments and for maximizing value in the existing portfolio. At Raine Advisors, a merchant bank offering growth equity and advisory for digital media and sports, she was Vice Principal, European Growth Equity and Advisory. Previously, she worked for CODE ADVISORS, a boutique firm focused on late-stage internet advisory, where she participated in six Financing and M&A transactions worth over $4bn. At UBS AG, where she was Associate Director; European Mergers and Acquisitions, she participated in 26 Financing and M&A transactions, worth over $11b, when completed. She is a Director and Trustee, Nazia Hassan Foundation, a community cohesion and development charity providing university scholarships, operating mobile clinics, and organizing medical camps, food and clothes’ drives and seminars, empowering women in Pakistan. She was Finance Group Lead, Project Umubano, which launched a financial literacy program in Rwanda, supporting 200+ entrepreneurs and finding start-up capital for three ‘Dragons Den’ winners. She achieved her Masters in Finance, Corporate Finance Specialisation from London Business School and a BA in Economics (Honours), from the University of Chicago, USA. She is a co-founder and trustee of Future Brilliance UK.
